The big day had arrived. King Thorax stood at the altar adjusting his tie for the fifth time out of nervousness. “You’re doing fine,” Spike whispered.
Thorax nodded as he looked down the aisle past all the ponies, dragons, changelings, and other creatures that had shown up to see the bride. Ember slowly walked down the aisle looking lovely in her dress.
“She looks so beautiful,” the changeling gasped. He made sure to take deep breaths as he saw the Dragon Lord step closer.
Ember was having similar feelings as she got closer to the altar. She kept looking toward her future husband. She was doing her best to keep a straight face despite the butterflies in her stomach. She felt so confident about announcing the marriage, but now that it was time, she almost wasn’t sure if she could go through with it.
Eventually, the Dragon Lord and Changeling King were standing in front of each other before they looked at Twilight, who began a speech.
“Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today for the special marriage between Dragon Lord Ember and King Thorax,” she announced, “Not only a moment bringing two loving partners together but also helping to bridge the bonds of their two different kingdoms. The bride and groom will both give their speeches.”
Thorax took a deep breath as all eyes were on him. He took out a small note and began to speak. “Ember, when we first met, I was nervous since we were kind of opposites,” he admitted, “But since we’ve hung out more, you’ve helped me come out of my shell and helped me become a better leader. I feel like I’d be struggling every day if I didn’t have your words of encouragement to give me the boost I needed to help make me a king that the changelings deserve.”
Some clapping and awwing were heard from the crowd as it was Ember’s turn to speak. “Thorax, I know I don’t show my feelings that much,” she spoke, “I honestly thought I had allergies to them at first. But around you, I feel perfectly fine being myself around you. It felt like you were one of the only creatures who understood me. You’ve helped me come out of my shell, just like you. We sort of complete each other, and I couldn’t think of any better king I would love to be married to.”
There was quite a lot of love in the air. Both rulers were presented the crowns they had made for each other, the same ones that helped to inspire this special moment. The bride and groom placed the crown on the head of the owner that stood in front of them. “Ember, Thorax,” Twilight announced, “I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride.”
Thorax leaned closer to Ember, who caught him by surprise by lifting him up and holding him tightly as they shared a kiss. A roar of cheering could be heard and tears of joy were shedded from even the toughest of creatures. Ember and Thorax embraced each other now as a happily married couple.
Yeah, I can see that. Though it looked familiar.
