Actually, her name was going to be “Ditzy-Doo” originally in the script to “The Last Round-up,” according to the writer of that episode, (would’ve been a nice call-back to the “Winter Wrap-Up” episode) until they decided to change it to “Derpy,” and then changed it again to eventually nothing.

I don’t get why some bronies hate the name “Ditzy Do.” I use both names “Ditzy,” and “Derpy” personally.
