@LordFlareon
They literally set up a new story arc for MyM with Secrets of Starlight. Like another said I highly doubt Hasbro had originally planned for TyT to continue that story arc. It was more of a pivot because of a change in what Hasbro wanted for G5. MyM was just not part of the new vision. So out it went. Now it seems TyT too is getting axed as a lot of what was planned for TyT is now seemingly getting scrapped, shelved or just cancelled.

MYM was pretty much shit canned the moment Hasbro sold off eOne and Boulder Media. They were the ones originally planned to make the series Make Your Mark (Another studio made MYM). They were also the ones responsible for the movie. Also there was just a lot of crap going on behind the scenes as well. Problems with getting G4 characters into G5 due to licensing agreements with Discovery for the G4 IP and its characters. There was also now more of a focus on returning the show to “kid friendly” audience. So gone is the more mature themed stories plus a lack of good writing, and trying to pull in fans from G4 with the convoluted nonsense.
The final nail was having MYM exclusively on the paywall service Netflix. Where as TYT was free on youTube. Netflix’s also dumping entire chapters on their service didn’t help either as people could just binge watch entire segments, and then for months at a time there was nothing. Where as TYT kinda still stuck to a “schedule” of releasing single episodes. Also TYT was pretty much aimed at the low attention span/quick shock content style audience that watch stuff like Tik Tok and you
Tube shorts. Which got Hasbro A LOT more viewership considering the episodes where quick 5 minute shorts of just silly childish nonsense. They knew there audience.
Though it’s like now TYT is faltering considering it seems like a lot of stuff planned for even TYT is being seemingly cancelled or scrapped.
