Princess of Ducks

The G4 characters are named for G3 characters in order to reuse the trademarks. They are, however, all based on G1 characters because that is the generation Faust grew up with and she originally wanted to straight-up reuse the G1 characters outright.

Twilight -> Twilight Sparkle
Glory & Sparkler -> Rarity
Applejack -> Applejack
Surprise -> Pinkie Pie
Posey -> Fluttershy
Firefly -> Rainbow Dash
Spike -> Spike

This mix is quite random…

Some of the parallels chosen are G1, some are G3. At first I thought they might’ve been chosen by name, until Posey was randomly placed instead of G3 Fluttershy.
