What about Kingdom Hearts III?
@Background Pony
Do you even realize how expensive it is to run a server for all those multiplayer games?
I’m surprised they were able to afford to keep it free for so long.
Oh come off it. If they want a console too, then that’s their thing.
Rule of thumb: all you technically need is a good PC and the latest Nintendo console.
I think most people who are weren’t hyped were happy to see that $400 price tag. After all, PS3 started off as $600.
And what if they decided that it would not be feasible to keep evolving their services without a constant monetary support to do just that?
New consoles are about evolving. Taking what was once a free service and deciding to charge people for it is not a step forward, it’s a step backwards.
‘Should be free’ is an arguable statement. Considering that building and maintaining the nessecary network for it is probably costlier for the manufacturer of the console, than it is for an developer on the PC market.
Though hat might as well be a home-grown problem with how consoles work.
Still, not as cut and dry a matter as people think.
Plus, the price is pretty laughable if I remember correctly. XBox Live charges quite a bit more for their gold membership, which is required for multiplayer.
And IBM just ain’t givin’ a shit about those peons</pcmasterrace>
Still, I don’t really care about home consoles anymore. Handhelds, maybe, but not home.
Seriously, that was the greatest thing.
Welcome to 2005, I guess.
Nintendo is winnning
Microsoft is losing it.
Much better than the PS3’s launch price.
I saw that press conference with ‘Millbee the Welsh wonder’ aka ‘Anal Feisty man’ and for him it was basically over after they announced Kingdom Hearts 3. He was totally sold after that and I bet a lot of people felt the same.
I am personally still nonplussed about the coming console generation in general, allthough they were showing some awesome titles for the PS4. That and their objectively much better policies in dealing with and enabling indy developers.
I will invest my hard earned money into my PC for now.
IF I ever feel the need to buy a console, it will be the PS4.
Okay. That made me laugh alot.
“Digital Rights Management”, or the bane of all gamers, a system that supposedly protects copyright, but actually forces gamers to buy games new or re-buy games they already own in order to use them in a different device.
