That’s fair enough i guess.
I love musicals myself. But when it’s put in a show that isn’t based around musicals, it’s best to be used to shake things up when things slow down and we need an upbeat episode where the events done in song have absolutely no bearing whatsoever on the test of the series.
In other words, they couldn’t have picked a worse time or place for a musical.
But i think criticising the episode because it has too many songs is something i really can’t understand.
Let’s look at a musical like Les Miserables for example. Pretty much 90% of the Musical is being carried by song and it’s still really well made.
If you are not a fan of musicals then i can kind of understand it.
The thumbnails show the difference. Please take the time to compare the two pics before you go reporting.
well, i would check it if the fucking full pic doesn’t have to load first.

HAW! HAW!
Valid point.
You know that MLP staff also worked on Pound Puppies and Littlest Pet Shop last year too; why don’t they get any of the blame?
I don’t know. I don’t think a season, even cut in half, would do well with destiny-screwed, unnatural characters. Think what would happen if you tried to do the same with the discorded ponies.
That would have stretched it out a bit too long, I think.
MLP’s strengths are in its episodic nature, so having two episodes would be more than enough to tell the story. Anything more than that, and it would lose steam partway through.
And we can blame that on Equestria Girls.
my point exactly. well, that and that the “switched cutie marks” plot would have done better happening at the beginning of the season and then the entire season should have been rediscovering who they are.
Really, the biggest problem with Season 3 was that it was cut to 13 episodes instead of 26.
ninety percent of season three would have benefited from a two parter. also, I totally called that it would be a bunch of two parters, and then it was written like half the script was cut about halfway through production.
As a single episode, a musical montage would have been the only way to fit the entire story into it.

Yup, singing and the chariot ride. Now we’ll just have to wait for S4 to open up where either Twilight has a wing in Canterlot Castle, Her Tree house is redone into a castle, or a new kingdom shows up and she reigns over it.
