Well this has been a nice trip down memory lane.

Aaaaaaaaaaand Octabooru doesn’t exist, and it can’t be crawled by Wayback because its domain squatter uses robots.txt.

If there’s a competition going, it’s on their side only. In the 9ish months I’ve been aware the places exists I’ve visited three times; the latest being today/yesterday just to confirm nothing had changed there since November. Other mods have tried to visit the site, but apparently they greet anyone with known DB affiliations with a meatspin gif.
 
Competition is great, but I’m not sure that’s what’s going on here.

From what I read so far, and from what I saw over there when I went and looked, their trying to succeed us as the main image board, but an image board doesn’t need to be so complicated.

I should have mentioned this but the extreme accusations I kept reading about got me curious enough to keep asking. I was also thinking this had something to do with competition and both sides just want war and what not. Seeing how defensive people were getting got me even more curious if there was more to it. Nothing personal, just curious about this drama.
 
Hopefully it’s just like what you say and people just need to blow off steam.

nah there’s like five others or so but only one can be arsed to upload anything. I think because one site is about ‘building a community around ponies’ and the other is just ‘building a site around watching ponies’ hence the synchtubes. Though it’s slowly branching to other HUB shows, LPS being the first, because I inadvertantly caused a fusion-dance between pony and LPS tulpa/RPers on rizon. I trolled both groups so hard they wound up fusing in the burning fires of rage like hydrogen atoms.  
Essentially I accidentally Cartuneslover’s dream of a pony+petter union into reality.

You’d think the fact that their site continually insults us would push the point through that they’re dicks, and it’s even a lot cleaner now; used to be every page mentioned us. Other things they like to do are http://purpletinker.net/, which was initially a blatant defamation site that’s since been edited out (though I think just the homepage, and the attack pages are still there). You’ll note that they credit both us and reddit for it.
 
There’s also the intermittent instance of one of them showing up here and deciding to wipe all tags off an image, they used to love doing that. I could dredge up logs for all that, or IRC logs of their admins shitting up the chat, but I really cba.
 
You want to leave for that place, I am seriously not stopping you.

A: OB has been accused multiples times of “bad behaviour” on the internet in the MLP community by our good friends at Derpibooru. They are of course, complete lies, and we’d like to remind DB to find staff who don’t delete their entire database by accident before claiming harmless traffic is an “attack.”
 
Derpibooru - The dude was butthurt after being banned for racism and made his own image board.
 
No reason to be on either side, I just want proof from one side and again breaking rule zero won’t solve anything. Are you even a mod or admin who’s capable of getting that proof?

Tags are shown when hovering over an image AND NSFW stuff is hidden on default. There’s no reason to leave.

This Octabooru looks pretty nice to me. I like how the tags display to the right when you hover over an image and like google it tries to predict you searches as you search. Also while you searching it gives you like 8 images before pressing enter.
 
Another thing is it asks you if you want to hide NSFW stuff before going into the site as an anon. Sorry guys I’m jumping ship.
