I read “Kindness’ Reward”, a Fluttershy/Trixie ship. I thought there was no way that could work. It ended up being very, very sweet. Fluttershy’s stubborn kindness reminded me so much of my wife.
 
Likewise, there was a Rarity/Prince Blueblood ship that I thought I’d just hate, “The Flight of the Alicorn”. It was actually quite good.
 
It was at that point that I just gave up on judging weird ships before reading the stories. If it’s good, I’ll give it a shot.
