I’ve known of the very recent history of ponies on 4chan for forever: /co/ talked about for a bit, and we were called /co/lts, and there were probably less than a thousand of us, and I wasn’t a colt before I was a brony, but whatever. They were chased out of /co/ and into /b/, hence /b/rony. Some yonks later, /mlp/ was founded. I’d guess it was 2012, but I’m probably wrong, lel.
 
Madmax and Seth (that’s probably wrong too) emerged from 4chan first. Then, most content was put on DA and other newfounded sites and referred to by ED. ED, I think, was founded in 2011.
 
2011 was also known for the “Habsro” confusion and ponyarchive getting C&D’d and in retaliation to Hasbro became a Trojan infection source accessible to the public. Nevertheless, I’ve decided most modern cartoons I ought to purchase legally because it’s apparently somewhat different to pirating music. X3
