Oh, well then… Yurr, hurr, fiddle dee dee, being a pirate is alright with me! :D
I have two systems installed, Win7 and Linux Mint, so if it won’t work under wine I’ll try Win7. What is so special about this app anyway? :)

Does anybody else know any good drawing-friendly apps for Linux, especially debian-related distributions?
RekinSharky

@ExtraDan
I disagree about GIMP being paint, it’s an awesome tool and I did very much with it, also I’ve seen people doing things better than in Photoshop. It really is an advanced tool :)
Paint.NET can bring bad memories, but when you look at it, it’s actually an advanced graphics “editor” too.
I’m about to use a pencil, so I can use a rubber to “delete” what I don’t like - and those erasers on the tip of the pencil are quite good and precise.
I will remember to use Sai, and determine what will suit me best, but I’m actually optimistic about Sai. Is it freeware?
Does it work on Linux too?

@RekinSharky
No, gimp is the opposite of photoshop, photoshop is an advance software and gimp is not, its like mspaint.
And no, buying a tablet would no be a waste of money, you will thank me later.
And sai got no malwares, dont worry.
RekinSharky

Also, if I don’t have a tablet and I’ll be using a normal sheet of paper, should I use the finishing touches in GIMP, Paint.net or Sai would be the best?
RekinSharky

@ExtraDan
You know, before I learn to draw on a sheet of paper, buying a tablet is waste of money…
Thanks for the links, I’ll save ‘em and try some of them.
You think GIMP is more like photoshop, just for modifying photos? That’s what I thought too.
I’m definetly gonna try this app, thanks. Is it freeware?
Of course I don’t have to write for you, just my motivation sucks and I can’t get myself to do anything, and something like a contest or just cheering xD so I do this maximum to the end of July. would be nice for me.

And here
You dont have to draw only for me, you can draw for other or for yourself!
I really dislike maspaint and gimp as an art tool, and yes, I use a tablet, since you are a beginner, I will recommend for you on an a Wacom Bambo tablet or this one.

@ExtraDan
my email address is rekinsharky@gmail.com ,could you send them .rar’ed to my email?
I’m a brave man, if it’s difficult, I’ll save it for later when I learn the basics :D
How about we have an agreement! I will draw a nice pony in a month from now for you. It would motivate me to start :)
Have you used Paint.net? and what about Gimp? do you use a tablet? I would be drawing on a sheet of paper, I don’t have a tablet unfortunately, so I will use my phone’s capabilities - it takes good photos and there’s a “scanner” application, which smoothes everything and shows it on a completely white background, not the picture of the paper, and take a photo of the page I drew and then maybe put something in GIMP or other, I will totally try Sai!

I dont mind to give you the ones I saved, they are greater than every result you will find on google.
I am just afraid it would be difficult for you.
pnoies are easy to draw, but not one you have no experience at art.
I use Sai for my art, I really like it for the clean looking lines.
RekinSharky

@ExtraDan
Ah, I see. Well, I’ll google for “pony drawing tutorial” and I’m sure to find something. I’m totally sure my drawings won’t be the state of the art, but I want to learn to draw ponies so bad! One guy told me that they’re actually very easy to draw. What do you think? So far I know that the eyes and facial expression is the most difficult, but I presume I could find the facial expression and use GIMP to do some magikz. What graphics apps do you use?

A….I dont really use tutorials, I learn new drawing techniques randomly when I browse art.
Well I got some pony tutorials in my drafts, that I never used anyway, but if you never drawn before, so I will recommend learning the base, which I cant explain from what the base is made.

@ExtraDan
Yeah, but this kind of exxagerration reminds me a lil’ bit of .MOV videos :) These eyes especially. Detailed, but totally wicked and cartoony in a bit mature, maybe even black humour kind of way.
Do you know any good tutorials on how to draw ponies from zero to a hero? :D
RekinSharky

@ExtraDan
Both are fantastic and original in their own way. Your style is kinda like .MOV videos, very exxagerated facial expressions and characteristic pupils. I am a big fan of your and karpet-shark ‘s art. Jadedhyrt can draw really neat, I’m not denying that at all - I’m just talking about the characteristics that make you think that this is that author and you’re right.
Thanks for the reply, I appreciate that mate :)
I wish I could draw ponies, I can’t even do a stickman. I think I’ll take some tutorials, you motivate me in some way :D
