I mostly agree. I hadn’t had the slightest problem with the models until recently, but I continue to train my mind to accept it.

Also very philosophical analysis there. Whatever you’re on, or alternatively have read, I must have some. lol

I currently like the 3D faces. That’s because you see true alien traits, not human traits on these, and significantly more credible from a logical perspective. You see very clear horse-like features on the faces like the snout, eyes and jaw, they are “human ponies” to a greater extent than “pony-like people”. More similar to “the gray aliens”, or loop-like aliens from different science fiction like the TV series “V - visitors”.

Unfortunately, much of humanity has a mysterious “instinctive” reluctance, called the “uncanny valley,” against human-like creatures and humans with non-human traits. I know this is almost absent in children and younger teens. You can process this over time and some do not have this disadvantage. But as this phenomenon becomes more familiar, it raises very frighteningly unpleasant questions about humanity. Up to 70,000 to 50,000 years ago, several human-like species migrated on Earth, these are related hominds. Suddenly, without warning, they became extinct in a very short time - and the mythology is full of “memories” that manifest themselves in trolls, orcs, elfs and dwarves over the millennia.

The ponies in MLP are partly a result of this eternal search for these that we had existed with so long ago, as we have to place human traits on beings and humanize our imaginary beings. Twilight Sparkle and her friends are really “pony-like people” in environments that are no different from our own, as if these are disguised people in the horse form.

The ponies could co-exist with others who have pony-like traits and true alien traits such as the dragons and griffons, it is possible that this is impossible for man as long as this mysterious urge to fear and attack others you cannot clearly place in your own self-image, persists. It then becomes impossible for humanity to live with other intelligent creatures, especially those with human-like traits or attributes. So that can be a very big problem.

I don’t know if that was the case, but lot of the comments I read were not constructive at all. While a few commentors laid out what they thought, the majority of the responses were “Ugh, Uncanny Valley!” “0/10, would not watch.” and “Kill it with fire!”

While I felt the faces had a bit of a problem showing emotions, the models themselves were really well done, especially the eyes and manes. The overall scene and setting was rather good.

It didn’t deserve the childish reception it got.
