A sequence of characters to be displayed on the screen is referred to as a “string” in many computer programming languages. Basically, in this case what it means is “The text that’s supposed to be displayed here either hasn’t been added to the program or has been added in the wrong place.”

I have the game set so it gives me notifications, and I ended up getting one that just said STRING NOT FOUND. I actually got scared for a second when I saw it.
