The reason I said what I did was because I was reading earlier elsewhere that “Twilicorn is bad because Faust wouldn’t have wanted Twilight to become an alicorn”, and then they precedent to base their entire argument around that premise.
 
Thus, if you think that Twilicorn is a terrible idea, then fair enough. But don’t try and base an entire argument around Faust when arguing against Twilicorn. Honestly, I prefer “Twilicorn is bad because now she is a Mary-Sue™” to “Twilicorn is bad because it’s not-what-Faust-would-have-done™”

What does Faust have to do with whether Twilicorn is a good idea? Nothing! Whether Twilicorn is a good idea or not has nothing to do with Faust. Anyone arguing otherwise is arguing over what-ifs

Lauren Faust has repeatedly refused to talk about what she had planned for the show after the second season, out of deference to the current staff. She has expressed her faith in the current staff multiple times, and has twice complimented Meghan McCarthy when others have denigrated her. And yet the anti-Twilicorn crowd keeps dragging her words into this spat, despite her clearly-stated disapproval.
 
Given a choice between a side that’s frequently insulting to those they disagree with, and a side that’s frequently insulting to those they disagree with and that disregards the wishes of people they claim to respect, I’m slightly more sympathetic to the arguments of the former.

He went from “even the episodes that make me angry I love watching because they give me a strong emotional response” (MMDW) to “I wish I’d never heard of it” and declaring everything that wasn’t personally done by Faust sucks and is just a flimsy toy commercial. (“Is that your dad? Tell [satan] that I blame him for that shitty abomination of a third season”)
