Really though, no matter how you look at it Flash doesn’t fit in. He has no connection with Fluttershy other than initial letters, and he isn’t timid. He’s a royal guard so chances are he would have no time to hang out with the other 5. I mean, even Shining couldn’t see his sister before the wedding, now that he’s sort of a prince he seems to be more duty free.
 
It would actually be hilarious to see Roid Rage in his place. There’s still no connection between him and Flutters but he’s such a perfect polar opposite to her that it works like a connection in itself.

Now this is an AU I can get behind.

There has GOT to be a guys night episode in season 4.

Honestly, I’m fine with Flash and all he’s supposed to be.  
Honestly, I’ve seen less of a ruckus raised about other characters with even less definition. Why, even Soarin’ initially was only “is fast”, “likes pie” and “is a messy eater”… and became a fan favorite.  
I guess the only reason people keep trying to erase Flash is that Twilight likes him.  
Guess what, people? Twilight’s main squeeze is not Big Mac, is not Celestia, and most definitely is not Trixie. The one she pines after is an orange-furred, blue-maned pegasus stallion named Flash Sentry.  
Deal with it.
