I’d like it more if they would animate the fight more in the style of the Celestia vs Chrysalis fight in A Canterlot Wedding, this here is too human-esque, what makes it look a bit silly imo :|

I’ve already taken that into consideration, since Sombra most definetly had a ton of followers at his command. (Dark powers can corrupt…) I’ve actually come to think of Sombra as something of a Daemon Prince, if you will.

I’d also imagine that the Equestrian army(Royal Guards) was also involved in this CE conflict. It would make so much sense that they’ve suffered Stalingrad scale casualties.

Well then, why do the guard all have weapons? How does Twilight know about war without their being a war?
 
It’s implied that Equestria has had to use such weapons in the past. (Of course they did. No major nation on Earth has ever ‘not’ had a war.)
 
And remember this is Sombra. He was going to impale Spike on a tower of crystals and let’s not even think about what he would have done if he succeeded in his plan.

To be honest, I don’t like the idea of anime-esque violence in the MLP universe. Props to the creators for animating this, because that part of it is very well done. But magical ponies wielding giant axes? Come on. It’s lazy and they could figure out something better just through better writing.  
Sure, the changeling battle part of the show included violence, but it was mostly a looney-toons style visual gag and at no point did the ponies ever do more to the changelings than stun them, Celestia included. Celestia can shoot a solar beam out of her horn, why on earth would she be swinging an axe at somepony?  
Good job, but it just doesn’t feel right for the ponyverse, especially for something which “may or may not be canon”

Don’t think I’d ever heard of the idea that Sombrero was the one who pushed Luna over the cliff to darkness; and though I’m not entirely sure it holds up the scrutiny it’s a nifty one nonetheless.
