I would store Fluttershy’s hoof clippings in a protective vacuum sealed tube and worship them at a special altar I made for her after making love to the tube ceremoniously each day.

Damn you cartoon physics! I’ve got no reasonable explanation for that… (but I do have a good one for why you sometimes see horseshoe shaped hoof prints but their hoofs always appear perfectly flat)

It’s obvious from other scenes (Green isn’t your Color, Magic Duel) that externally hooves are hard and can be filed.
 
It changes depending on whatever looks better.

This scene made no sense. Even if they have hooves with the typical hard cartilage half moon shape, it’s obvious from many scenes that at least externally it’s soft and fleshy. So where are these “nails” coming from?
