I personally think that pony Cheerilee isn’t exactly happy with her life, though is able to either ignore it better or hide it better. Most likely due to the fact that ponies have a greater tendency towards friendship and optimism than humans.

Cheerilee seemed seriously out-of-character (to me, at least) in Equestria Girls. Even when she’s not in the best of moods in FIM, she’s still patient and understanding. In EG, she comes across as someone who knows where to hide the bodies so they’ll never be found.
