Secret: if you don’t want to feel embarrassed about buying an MLP/whatever toy or other child-centric item that you love…don’t be embarrassed.
 
Seriously, the store cashiers don’t give a flying fyay about what you’re buying anyway (they’ve probably worked there for ages), and the other customers are too busy buying their stuff to pay you any attention either.
 
Just go to the cashier, get your stuff rung up, bag it, pay for it, leave. Job done.  
(This from someone who learned years ago that stressing over this stuff isn’t worth the time).
 
Or for that matter…we live in the 21st century now - just buy it online! :DDDDDDDDDDDDDD
