Presenting Mr. Andrew J. Talon, author of Progress and now Hands, which, while being HiE, manages to reform Chrysalis and turn her into a comic relief telepath.
I agree. In order to ‘reform’ (or just get on the good side…or be good acquaintances) They’d have to first help out the changelings as a whole.
I was thinking more Blue and Orange Morality but that works too
Yeah, and who said they had to be nice? Go for the jerk with a heart of gold trope.
It’s less evil, more a different species with a different culture.
By Changeling standards, they are perfectly normal, they only seem evil by pony (e.g. our) standards.
Does it make attacking right? Debatable but it didn’t seem to be worth it. (Though, it might have been a last dash thing, like the Battle of the Bulge)
‘Reforming’ would be just showing how ponies (once you get around their…rather harsh reaction to new things (see Zecora) are willing to share love and help others.
Free food + permanent supply + no longer having to live in the shadows is a pretty good motivator to acting ‘reformed’ (e.g. Don’t kill/capture any ponies and occasionally help them with stuff.)
Chrysalis is kinda an unrepentant fascist and murderer, but after Sunset Shimmer it’s not beyond belief that they’d try.
>Fascist
I disagree. Discord never showed any remorse, like Chrysalis, but I feel his overal nature and persona had elements that we may still see in him (we’ll have to see, if he returns), even now that he is good. For Chrissy, though, I just can’t really see any of her key traits being retained, if she made a moral change.
No they didn’t, just threw her very far away.
@Sjogre
There’s also the small problem that Chrysalis has never displayed any sympathetic qualities or signs of remorse, and Discord never showed any until the last five minutes of “Flutter On.” Hell, Sunset was actually the villain with the most redemption worthy background, seeing as unless Celestia is as deaf, blind, and stupid as a cube of wood, she had to have had some positive qualities before becoming evil. But thankfully, the writers covered that by pulling of her redemption is the stupidest manner possible.
That’s pretty much the same argument against reforming Discord, and look what happened to him.
On the other limb, not having to fight your lunch is a very attractive proposition.
Also? Queen Chrysalis lost, and led them into a defeat. They’ve gotta be feeling some discontent with her now.
I think alot of them would have a hard time accepting help from an enemy they were close to beating. VERY close to beating. I know I would.
Actually, they’d make it easier. They need to eat, so a safer method of getting love would be a powerful incentive to reform.
Moreso than what Discord had, and after his reformation, anyone is a valid target.
Let’s start with shock therapy.
I know, right? I was skeptical about reforming Discord, but I bought it because the episode was so well done. But when they decided to reform Sunset, they just went full retard.
