I do like the expressions. I think you made the right decisions as far as what to draw is concerned, but I agree that Rarity could have been perfected if more time had been spent on her.

I bet Rarity is sabotaging Applejack’s bonsai. Applejack would be fantastic at it.

I dunno about that picture but research i’ve done seems to say that growing large fruit does happen (though they are smaller than they would be on a normal tree). But this isn’t too common as the most ‘usual’ bonsai apple trees are crab apple varieties, which means they made small fruit to begin with anyway.

This actually would be a good matchup: Applejack’s Earth pony growing magic vs. Rarity’s Unicorn “prettifying” magic. Applejack would probably think Rarity was cheating since she didn’t cause the bonsai to grow into its shape, she simply transmogrified it.

Well I’ll be…

I did’t think a tree stressed that hard would hold onto its fruit! I was sure it would drop’em half way through development if not earlier, ya learn something new every day!

Hmmmm, interesting thought….
I am not sure most stunted appletrees would bare fruit they could sustain but crab apples should work and many of the more wild varities tend to be of a nature they might take reletively well to the process… Interesting, I shall look into this!
