Skinless apples due to her demanding Applejack grown apple trees to produce apples without skin in Magic Duel,(which is what I meant in the previous post, woops). Also she seemed to like apples in general, given she wanted to be covered in applesauce.
 
But then again she was coo-coo for most of that episode, anyways.

Eh, I like the peanut butter crackers. I think it’s cute. (Pinecones I just never got though, but thanks for explaining it.){Skinless Apples? Now that’s just random.}

There was some fic or image that after running out of town in Boast Busters Trixie would be so poor and hungry that she’d need to eat pinecones. At some point someone during a livestream requested an image of that, and the artist actually did it. The the requester went on to request it from several other artists, then artists started doing it on their own, then being written into fics, etc.
 
Died off when Boast Busters hit and Trixie’s “thing” became distrust of wheels. And now it’s pretty much dead thanks to her canon favorite food being peanut butter crackers (and skinless apples).

Pinecones? Why pinecones? Why do people think Trixie likes pinecones?

ah, good, resolution fix.

Oh, it’s a single comic. I thought it was a what to and what not to do comparison. I could see the text “Don’t feed your Trixie alder cones, they will cause her much discomfort. Make sure she is eating true conifer cones regularly.”

Although she outgrew the need to eat pine cones, Trixie had found them so delicious, she bought her own forest so she would never go without.
