I was just thinking about this piece!
Thank you for bringing it back.
Well how was I supposed to know he was doing it of his own free will?
He works part time u dipnut. Monday through Friday he runs his jazz club in canterlot shmanterlot, and on saturday he serves the (now occupied) castle because he still likes the company of his adoptive mother. Be a capitalist my friend. u dipnut.
Missed one. He also played Crestwell in “Relative Values”. What is it about him that makes people cast him as a servant?
Seconded! I vote for Stephen Fry. He played Jeeves, after all (who isn’t technically a butler, but he can buttle with the best of them), and Randolph from Super Clyde.
i was thinking the same thing :)
FiM strikes me as one of those series that will have an incredibly famous actor/actress guest star on it and have it be one of their last roles. Like Orson Welles and Transformers.
That reminds me. I still want a Gummy episode, his thoughts voiced by Morgan Freeman.
It would be funny if they had a dream sequence or something and he had a completely awesome celebrity VA voicing him.
Sean Connery with a monster edit, perhaps? That’d be sweet!
I vote Steve Blum. I think he could balance the deep gravel that would come from being a grown lizard, while at the same time keeping a more subdued cheeriness.
A voice similar to Max’ from a Goofy Movie would do nicely.
Unrelated, but I wonder who would voice an older Spike. Weseluck can only go about maybe three to five years older than Spike is now in terms of voice.
He is. The funny thing is that we both idolize each other, so our conversations tend to get amusing.
Oh, that’s pretty cool. He seems to be a Spikelove artist. Should mesh well with you.
The Descendant certainly has a way with words.
He’s working on a huge project now, but he plans to collab with me. :)
I’m pretty excited about that.
Spike the Dragon filled an unusual role in her life, moving between being her personal secretary, a very best friend, surrogate brother, and even something like a son. All of these were true, and none of them fit. Their relationship was unique among all relationships of their era, and scant examples of it can be found in mythology and history. Whatever they were to one another, he was her little one, and she his big one.
That’s the quote I was looking for.
Like the other guy mentioned, most butler relationships in reality are like the one depicted, and was actually quite common amongst the nobility back in the days where this was more common, especially in areas were the kids of the middle class mixed with those of the upper class.
Hell, some families (Upper and middle class) purposely allowed their children to mix to encourage them to form relationships like that for when they come of age.
One gets a well paid job and a social upgrade, and the other gets a loyal manservant.
