I need to reread this issue. Outside of being a geek (as evinced by sitting at a tabletop game table and nominally playing an instrument–wise move, instant in with the nerd crowd), Shining seems primarily defined by his infatuation with Cadence.
 
The others stole the show for me, especially Gaffer.

I didn’t think Shining Armor would be that much similar to his sis.
 
But then again…
 
Now I’m wondering how much of their quirks they got from their father. (I somewhat consider Night Light to be one of the silly ones in Twilight’s family.)
