Oh, I always wondered what a “Commodore 64” was.
I think he means this. I remember my uncle playing games on his Commodore 64 that were stored on those small audio cassettes.
If this what you’re talking about? Got to save computer cartridges probably worked better.
Y’know, in Japan Nintendo actually made a cassette tape recorder, that you could use either as a standard sound-recorder, or use to save your customizable levels from NES games like Excitebike, Wrecking Crew, and Mach Rider. (It wasn’t released here, which is why the “save/load” options don’t work in the American versions, unless you’re using the Virtual Console versions.)
Also, games came on actual tapes. Not cartridges, tapes.

Yeah, though technically they were “video game/computer cartridges.” No games use the cartridge format anymore though. Everything movies, music, games, and such are on CDs now.
Unless you count the DS/3DS game “cards,” which are kinda like the old cartridges in a way.
This is now my headcanon!
