Description

They must really want to push the Princess thing hard if they’ve taken to calling Chrysalis a Princess now. Looks like we have another contender for “Who’s next to be reformed”.

That’s reasonable enough, both your reply to Itsthinking and to me. Personally, I’d always thought it’d be good to show the Changelings (or some faction of them) rebelling against Chrysalis and living in peace with the ponies, but your idea would make for some interesting, entertaining stories too.

Yeah, that’s what I had in mind. Also got to admit that being russian I DO have a thing for strong and devoted yet dark rulers like Stalin XD

But actually show already surprised us numerous times in what writers managed to pull off. Maybe we’ll get another case of that.

As I was saying, you wouldn’t need anyone “reformed” in that scenario. Chrysalis seems devoted enough to her subjects so if ponies and changelings will get along that way, you’d still have her as an arrogant jerk with darker tones. But for the sake of the kingdom and subjects she’ll have to learn not to kidnap princesses on their weddings anymore XD
It doesn’t mean she’ll become good or even nice to anyone that’s the idea.

Besides, if Chrysalis has the same role for changelings like Celestia does for ponies (aka almost living god and teacher/protector) I greatly doubt they’d agree to kick her out.

(Also yeah, I am not big fan of the whole “villain” term. Nobody considers (him/her)self one and everyone thinks they are doing the best thing either for themselves or ones they care for.)

@Background Pony
Well, I never said she was right. I am just saying she had courage to risk her life. I can respect that.

@Itsthinking
Of course, that’s the best case scenario. We still know very little about Changeling biology, so it’s very possible they don’t need love to survive, but instead use it to power their magic. Which would make Chrysalis into an even worse villain.

Now, let me be clear. I don’t hate Chrysalis. I am actually very fond of her… as a villain. She is an awesome villain, who pulled off a legitimate plot twist, had interesting powers and appearance, and even had some subtly mature tones about her. And while you can argue about the necessity of stealing love, she still went about doing it in the most evil way possible, and displayed a great deal of personal sadism the entire time.

It’d be downright stupid to take an absolutely despicable (but still despicably awesome) character and make them a good guy, despite the fact they displayed no positive qualities that could serve as the catalyst for that turn. They already did it once, and because of that, Chrysalis is the only hardcore villain the show can actually bring back, and I want her back as a proper villain.

Really curious why some people hate Chrysalis so much XD
After all she went all by herself on the undercover mission in the enemy capital to get food for her subjects. You really must have courage to do so if you are the leader. Especially when your whole nation is made of naturally born spies and infiltrators.

I’m totally down for an episode about ponies and changelings coming to coexist… provided a step to that coexistence is the Changelings throwing Chrysalis out on her ass. Lesson about how you can’t judge people based on their leader, standing up for peace, all that jazz.

Well tbh we know little about changelings. Besides I don’t think “reforming” is necessary like it was for Discord’s case. Simple truce/pact between Equestria and Changeling Kingdom would pretty much solve the whole conflict (terms may vary).
Make it lesson among the lines of lesson of “our cultures and lives may be very different but we may still get along with some effort”.
