As the person who did this, I can say the changes were made for changes sake, and mostly made at random(I really wanted a red headed Twilight), no secret agenda included, sorry.

Why should this show conform to real life standards though? The fact is MLP is made to appeal to girls of all types of personality. Why wouldn’t that apply to race? I’m pretty sure I’ve never, ever seen a nerdy girl, a shy girl, a jock-ish girl, a girly-girl, a hardworking girl, and an extremely excitable girl ALL be in the same friend group. Ever.
 
They also come from pretty different backgrounds. Pinkie from a rock farm, Rainbow from cloudsdale, Twi from Canterlot, Applejack from ponyville. They have different accents, they have different eye shapes. There’s two of each race (before twilicorn) .. what is the likelihood of that?
 
Diversity is what My Little Pony DOES. People only object to it when it comes to race, and that’s what’s really ridiculous.

I Dash’s case that makes perfect sense, Since her eyes are a very unnatural color, Tei’s can be chalked up to the fact that purple eyes are incredably rare and most probably don’t think they happen at all, AJ’s could be like her hair changed merely for the sake of change, The others may be do to the the one who did this not knowing the while rare in some, every ethnicity can have blue eyes,

It’s incredibly dumb to say that AJ has to be a blonde. Pony hair colors obviously do not correlate to real life hair colors, even if they’re plausible colors in real life. They’re fucking pastel ponies, all of them. Pony skin/hair does not correlate to their human counterparts skin/hair unless you’re equestria girls.

What’s with everyone thinking the girls ALL need to have a different skin color? From my experience in the real world, every large group of friends I see are ALWAYS the same race. Not trying to be racist, but this is literally what I see.
