I use to use MS paint for  
all my lineart before  
switching to sai i been  
using MS paint sens  
junior high and i still  
use it today as a sketch  
tool wen papers not  
available.  
and …
 
also i use Photoshop for the painting part and any  
or all effects I need and to make backgrounds.
 
i find using gimp a pane in the butt  
to use. but with all 4 programs plus  
good old pen,paper and my smart phone  
(sens my old scanner was lost in the  
house fire) or my dad’s printer scanner  
they all work together like voltron.

The proportions in general are all kind of whack but I think the biggest thing to tackle here would be to re-size the head. It should be larger than any circle you use to do the body.
 
 
And I use PaintSAI to draw in the lineart for all my stuff, then I load Photoshop for the painting part and any or all effects I need.

And slightely shorter legs unless it’s an alicorn of a tall pony.  
In general the legs are more or less the same leangth as the head.
 
Also… SAI oh lawd i downloaded ti yesterday with the intention to finally start drawing (paper seems to dislike me since the things i make are so horrible i just constantly rub it out always leaving me with a blank page)…
 
Didn’t even start it up yet because i’m a lazy bum.

Needs a bigger head.
