Sorry, but we already agreed you would disagree with that. No take backs, background Pony.
I disagree with that.
Apparently all we can agree on is the fact some one will disagree to something.
I’m drawing a blank. What was SAYS?
Nope.
The popular girl doesn’t need to be impressed, she already is, and thus making the overly complicated plans kinda pointless and could’ve just been resolved if he just spit it out. The jerk/bully is being played in a over the top fashion he can’t be taken seriously. Nerd friends are also played over the top, although less so. Said attempts to make the jerk look bad are also played in such a way they might as well have come from Looney Tunes. Misunderstandings…well you got me there.
Again this is a parody and homage to the classic 80s high school movies. If they didn’t use the tropes used in them it wouldn’t be a parody.
Huh…
And here I thought all his action movies were affectionate parodies.
Just because it’s comedic doesn’t mean it’s a parody.
It’s still going through the average motions of High School romances.
The awkward geek trying to impress the popular girl? Check, The jerkass bully? Check, the Entourage of nerd friends? Check, The lead being unable to properly form words near his crush? Check, the failed attempts to make the Jerk look bad/ the geek look good? Check, the Misunderstanding? Check.
Face it, these issues are every single Coming of Age romantic comedy ever made.
What, Rambo 4? That was a parody too, albeit a gory affectionate one. Also this entire arc is played for laughs not straight.
Yeah, parts of the comic seem to take the plot seriously, while other parts (like the dress-up scene) seem more like satire. It’s a mixed bag.
I said Rambo, not First Blood.
Original Rambo was pretty much a kind of satire on the action hero archetype in that despite being a war hero he was burned out and directionless, unable to adjust to civilian life to the point where he was a danger to others.
Well, until the sequels where he just blew things up.
It’s not a parody if it’s being played straight.
That’s like saying Rambo is a parody of action movies.
ok _
to who are you talking to? we are having fun here!
Then again I shouldn’t underestimate the fans who over overanalyze every single thing and ruining it for everyone.
