Because jets are faster and more powerful than any Pegasus could ever hope to be?
A couple of reasons:
1.) Pegasi can’t see beyond their field of vision(no radar)
2.) No room for external stores(Missiles, bombs, and an internal cannon)
3.) NO armor whatsoever(Royal Guard armor dosen’t count, it can’t survive an AIM-9’s shrapnel)
4.) Little military value overall(What are they going to do? Dive into enemies and hope they dont get hit? Pretty suicidal tbh)
The only thing a pegasus might be useful for is recon over enemy territory, but even that has its faults when theres SAMs and triple A on the ground that can track it’s body heat.I don’t know why many bronies depise the fact of fighter jets exsisting in Equestria, a pegasus is an amazing creature, but as we saw in Secret of my Excess, they’re pretty useless in a combat situation. Air Superiority is important on a battlefield!
