Faust originally intended them to be very low tech, not quite entering the industrial era yet, with trains being the latest and greatest thing there is.
And I really wish they’d stick with that.
Mostly early 20th century tech level in the show, actually, with a few exceptions (the refrigerators, cameras, and a few other items look mid 20th century; video games, wireless microphones, DJ P0n3’s equipment, maybe a couple more items are late 20th century).
The comic seems more firmly in the mid to late 20th century in terms of tech; I halfway expect the show to go that route, too.
Not so sure about that. The general level of technology in Equestria seems to hover around the late 50s to 60s type stuff. I doubt they’d have that leg up on us, at any rate.
Our earth ponies or the Equestrian sort? I think the Equestrian sort would quite possibly have a leg or two up on us and even if not as species to species Celestia as an individual most certainly would.
