Oh, the eyes. Yes,I can agree with that.
I’d go so far as to say that the eyes are probably the weak point on any dragon.
Still, having lava harden on your eyes should be painful for a dragon
With dragon strength, and claws and fangs that can slice through diamond, I suspect being stuck in lava would be a temporary problem at best for dragons.
And OT but say, did Spike ever show any of that ‘draconic strength’ he ought to have in the show itself?

Torture can change the way you think, the same goes for an absolute NEED to make someone suffer at any cost. I think they’ll have as much patience as required for whatever they can do that causes the most amount of suffering without killing him

Why do they even need mailponies, then?
I always figured it was the scrolls, not Spike’s breath, that was magic. There’s probably a spell on the parchment that, when it’s set on fire, causes it to teleport to whatever address is written on it.
For some reason, when the address is a dragon, it causes the dragon to burp up the scroll rather than just pop in next to him. Probably the product of some unicorn mage with a weird sense of humor.
Well, it’s not like Fizzle did anything to Spike…
Any explanations for why Spike can send flame mail to those three, or is it just a gag?
Yeah, he’s just tormenting these three this time.
I’m going with the first one.
So far, flame mail only works between Spike and Princess Celestia, and only those scrolls can be delivered. Spike can also use it to store papers like the card that he wrote the Noble Dragon Code on.
Why only Spike and Princess Celestia can use flame mail, and why a dragon can send to a winged unicorn, has yet to be explored.
