@BarryFromMars
According to what I could find a 1971 Plymouth Valiant (from the movie) averaged “somewhere” near 19 mph and had an 18 gallon tank meaning a run of 342 miles if he filled up just before pissing off the gas truck driver.
Thats beside my point halfway through the movie the truck is out in the desert ahead of him. All he had to do is turn around and go back the way he came - movie over.
How many miles would a full tank of gas last in that model of car? I’m guessing he’d be getting maybe 18 MPG in it average and with a 13-18 gallon tank. So let’s say for figures it’s a 15 gallon tank, That’s 270 Miles, If he got 18 MPG in it. 300 if it’s 20 MPG.
Thanks.
Now I just would like to know how long the actual run in the movie was though you don’t have to search for that unless you choose to.

The course being from the gas station stop near the start of the film to the end of the movie.

How many miles was the course?
In front of that: RD the cyclist.
In front of that: AJ in a tractor.
And throw in some roadworks for good measure.
