Oh I see now, never really thought about bakeing bread/pastry type foods in canning jars. Doesn’t seem practical to me though as unless you’re baking a fruit cake or something dense most of the room in the jar will be taken up by air.
 
Still good to know.

After digging around a bit, I finally found out what this is actually supposed to be. It’s rainbow cake, which they tried to cook in a jar.
 
….I guess someone put too much in the jars, unaware that cake EXPANDS.

That is what happens when you don’t test the jars’ ability to stand up to pressure. Should have court martialed those two.
