Yep. It’s 2D. The rocks on it’s body stay the same shape. In fact I think they squashed the head a bit at the end to give the illusion of a widening gape.
Also, A crocodile made of rocks. Awesome.
I’ve heard several people say it looks like the CGI used for the timberwolves, but this doesn’t look CGI to me. I’m pretty sure it’s just made up of 2D layers - not seeing any smooth viewing angle changes like we saw with the timberwolves.
A cheap way out, but most likely.
But seriously, holy shit, that looks awesome.

Nah, Fluttershy will just talk to it about what’s making it so grouchy. Probably all those missing teeth. Do a few dental implants, and croc is on his (or her?) happy way :D

Exactly, but that croc could have been in any other show. Might even Korra if they added some shading
