Perhaps Pinkie knew the futility of searching for an answer without Twilight and decided to have fun until she arrived. The answer wasn’t in the library anyway.

Haha I wasn’t saying it was short or all the characterization should be cut. I was criticizing some of the comments before mine about this being a useless scene. If you take out all scenes not directly related to the plot of this episode then it turns to crap. I for one loved the season opener and wouldn’t change a thing. Besides this scene was just showing Pinkie being Pinkie, should we ignore her unless it’s something incredibly important…no. (If someone thinks this scene was useless, it was maybe 3 seconds so who cares)

Yeah but if you don’t cut and watch the freaked episode with all its awesome moments then you see the character growth of celestia opening to twilight,as a equal because of her princess hood, twiligth adjusting to her role as princess with the guards,seeing how reformed discord is still an awesome jackass,watch the epic battle between nightmare moon and celestia(more characterization) discords defeat,and the new idea that Celestia and luna are not the hiarches of order but it’s agents for the tree of harmony. And it evens question Twilights new role with her friends and what it means to have obligations to equestria and her friendship,and with all this it gave a new plot arc with the box and keys and managed to explain a lot of questions we had before.All and all ,it did a wonderful job as a season opener, and now I can’t wait for the rest of the season…but I guess you can still moan and bitch about how “short” it was cause it wasn’t your perfect episode if you want to

If you cut everything that isn’t completely necessary for the main plot line you end up with a sparse episode.

Not really. Except for Twilight, that could be said for any other of the mane six.

While I didn’t dislike this scene I thought the cut one would have been better.

I nearly facepalm at this scene. I didn’t find it funny nor cute. It’s the kind of random that wasn’t needed. That scene should have been cut from the story board. Fortunately the other antics Pinkie does throughout the show wasn’t force. So I can let this moment retardation pass.

Pinkie coloring was pretty much the pinnacle of adorableness of the season for me. It’s all downhill from here. :p

I think when its not Pinkies episode she is a completely useless character.
