Oh, well, to be honest I don’t think that way at all. Though it’s just headcanon I don’t think of the rest of the races as evil. I think we’ve just seen bad examples doing things for their own reasons. I mean, Iron Will wasn’t really evil was he? He was just doing his own thing being a motivational speaker. Same with all of them really. Though I think Ahuizotl was just one creature, kinda like Discord.
You could say Crysalis is mostly evil, I mean taking over Equestria isn’t very nice, and if she created the Changlings would that make them evil for following her?
A nomadic, but fully established, culture could certainly fit them well, too :)

I see them like the nomadic Mongols. I think more culture wise than race wise which leaves a lot open to individual experiences.
I don’t want to see a complete retool or a flanderization. I would prefer it though if it wasn’t Ponies best at everything, you can teach us nothing and all that you do is bad.
Also they are kind of wacky and like to joke around in the comics. There is a lot of prankster in the changelings.
Yes but I wouldn’t like it all that much. Goes back to the old MLP standard fangs, bug eyes, bug wings, holes, must be cursed or evil. It is okay to look different as long as you aren’t menacing, like nice safe Zecora.
Griffons, Dragons, Diamond Dogs, Minotaurs, that Anubus thing from the Daring Do book… even Spike when he got big and tough… All of them overwhelmingly dicks. Just look at all those sharp things on them, obviously bad. Even Luna / Nightmare Moons with those sharp evil, evil teeth.
Little to much cute = good going around for my taste. I would like to see a socket wrench shoved in those works.
However, even with my theories, that doesn’t mean there’s not still a lot the show writers could potentially expand on, for us to see.

How would you differentiate between these ‘free’ changelings and the ones who serve Chrysalis?
Wouldn’t everyone like to see them expand on changelings a bit? I don’t think I agree with the being ‘cured’ either. But what if Crysalis was turned into a Changling by some dark magic long ago and she made the lesser changlings instead of transforming normal ponies into changlings?

I think having them as a separate race interacting in the world in a way other than feed me. Before they started talking I didn’t like the hive mind borg angle either. No personality.
I would like to see changeling character development, and I don’t mean chrysalis character development, that’s like the entirety of pony being dependent on Celestia for characterization. Like if all the ponies morphed into royal guards and that was the show, that is how I view Chrysalis only development.
No I would really like to see drones (if the are even called that) interacting with the world separate from Chrysalis like ponies do separate from Celestia. Civilian changelings in an episode would be one of my favorites things.
I think its technically post-Changeling, according to the picture’s backstory.
