Might be actually. It’s also interesting it’s one of the first “superhero/comic adaptation” movies that touch on alternative universes/timelines, and alternative canons, and alternative versions of characters. Not something you see much, though I kinda fear after it’s success, other copycat movies will follow suit, and overdo that concept, or handle it badly, ruining the idea/trope.

It’s a pretty clever joke overall.
Some of said character popsicles can be downright nightmare fuel to. (Look at this SpongeBob one, >>326541 as well as the ones posted in it’s comments to.)
They even had ones of Mario with a gumball nose, and Sonic with gumball eyes that were usually wrong. (Though, at least they gave Sonic green eyes much to the horror of “classic Sonic” purists.) :P
There are a number of ice creams that are in the shape of a character’s face that are sold in stores and trucks, apparently they’re known for the eyes being off center, resulting in the character appearing cross eyed. The Joke is that a shaped ice cream of Derpy, a character who is known for and supposed to have crossed eyes, would have her eyes be perfectly strait
