AAAAARGH EVERYTHING SAID ON THIS THREAD IS SO TRUE
Not anything revolutionary, but definitely not enough applied in modern western entertainment.
It’s certainly not revolutionary, agreed.
My point is that Flash Sentry’s character is a very standard “you’re supposed to want to fuck this” for women, and (to a lesser degree) “you’re supposed to want to be this” for men.
However, the same characteristics in a female character don’t ping the same way. Female Flash wouldn’t be a standard sex icon that men are supposed to lust after, nor a standard image of success that women are supposed to emulate. R63 Flash isn’t innately more interesting than regular Flash, but becomes so in the context of our culture by virtue of being less standard.
All the others I’ve seen had longer hair.
Nice contrast.
That would just take the same demographic you mentioned and flip adoration to admiration. It’s been done. In fact, I just finished the book “The Count of Monte Cristo”, and there was a female character exactly like that in the story, and that was written back in the early nineteenth century. Definitely not anything revolutionary.
It wouldn’t make Flash a compelling character, but it would make him less of a “you’re supposed to want to fuck this” cliche.
Our hate is even shallower than our love.
Because she’s a cutie.
