She has always kept her life to herself, we can’t even say if the way this fandom treats her bother her at all. If she didn’t talk with fans of Spongebob and Camp Lazlo and Adventure Time, I don’t see why she would make an exception with bronies of all people.
She doesn’t go to a lot of conventions, and it’s hard to photograph someone if they don’t pose for pictures.
Considering how the fans react to her, she doesn’t interact much with conventions and such, so there would be no new picures to take of her to use.
True. But what really paints my views is her work on Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends. He wrote a handful of the episodes but her work on the finale to the series, Destination Imagination, I thought that was pretty damn good and in some ways, kinda dark.
If she was allowed that much freedom to write what she wanted from the beginning and had that production scale or at least what it’s getting now (S4 premiere had more budget no doubt) then it might’ve been something very special.
But i’m satisfied with the first season. It’s just a shame that Renzetti and Faust are gone now, which happens to be when McCarthy and the others have more resources and reputation to do stuff they might’ve not been able to do before.
So to sum it up, I think Faust could have been a much better lead writer if not for the restrictions put in paced at the beginning/before she left.
Faust wrote three episodes.
One of those was co-written.
In a meta sense, in terms of what they do with the characters and how they establish the show to the audience, those first three episodes were fantastic. But narratively….they were mildly above-average for the show overall.
I wouldve loved to see what Faust could have done with FiM if she had the same freedom McCarthy and the team has now. She said she had to drop several things because of Hasbro and production restrictions.
The loss of Renzetti as story editor, another experienced cartoonist ergo better pacing, also is somewhat unfortunate.
I mean, im watching both Gravity Falls (Renzetti) and Wander Over Yonder (Faust) and both shows do pacing so much better.
Going with Faust/Renzetti on this one. I feel they’ve in the past proven to be great writers and animators (90s cartoons, Foster’s Home) and still do to this day (GF, WoY)
They’re based on “shut up and take a joke”.
Personal observation of the projects they’ve headed.
