Even if it’s rare it can still be a thing. I can understand people thinking “Yeah, right” sarcastically to their detriment and being ungrateful as well. No amount of external possessions will fix it because the answer’s not an external one, it’s something within.
 
Life and love are about “Well what DOES work even here?” and not abandoning it under any circumstance including against “this life I call home” (e.g. yourself.) Even if it is costly to get it right leaving it to devastation’s hand is never going to work. Tiny chance of happiness? Absolutely but are you choosing it or what you see as a commodity?

Genuine equality, while a desirable state of existence at first blush, isn’t really achievable realistically because, frankly, not all human beings are created equal. The vagaries of genetics have seen to that.
 
Call me an ableist PoS if you must, but it’s true. The Navy doesn’t take people with ventricular disorders to be fighter pilots, because they’re going to get themselves (and likely others too) killed. Similarly, mental differences between individuals are often so different, and so specific in nature, that enforcing a truly egalitarian society would require the replacement of substantive amounts of brain tissue with mechanical regulation systems, a decision which would almost assuredly be met with violent resistance itself.

I have a rather similar outlook on love as boilerwash. I used to think that maybe I was being a bit negative. That was until I asked my mom how many truly successful marriages she seen in her life. As in not simply still married but still very much in love. She thought on it for a moment and told me she knew of only one. FYI my mom was born in 46.
 
So yeah, those forever in love marriages do exist but they are very rare. So it’s kinda like buying a lottery ticket once a week and expecting to win the jackpot at some point in your life. It could happen and to a few it will, but chances are it isn’t going to be you.

Yeeeeaaahhhh…….about that love thing. You see my dad stayed married to the ungrateful bitch I call mom for 30 years until he died of cancer after working his ass off to try and keep her happy for most of that time. The most he ever got out of it was her waiting for him to walk out the door to go to work after which she would spend the rest of the day getting shit face drunk and then explaining to me why my father was a piece of shit and the cause of all her problems. That was of course inbetween going out and buying clothes and shit she would never use at thousands of dollars at a time and then would blame HIM for the fact that they went bankrupt three times in my lifetime.
 
Then theres my grandparents that I have become convinced are both alive out of pure SPITE for each other and they both refuse to go until they see the other one die and they dance on their grave.
 
The whole “love until death do you part” thing is a real nice sentiment but to people like me that have lived in real life for a period of time we’ve realized it’s horseshit.

If there is one topic that I absolutely despise thinking about , let alone talk about, it would be gender politics. The very mention gives me headaches and makes me hate everyone who spends time debating about it.
 
Before I even knew what gender politics really was, I thought it would be a discussion about how men aren’t allowed to act women like and women weren’t allowed to be manly like or how a certain rigid body type is coerced upon people, but no, of course not; instead it’s all about each other calling other people privileged, over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. When people are done talking about privilege then everyone starts saying how hard they have it and suddenly people who have experienced racism come along in the discussion and start accusing everyone of being privileged and then everyone starts competing who has a more shitty life and then everyone is scum/racist/cis/sexist/rapists/princess/bitches/jews/nazis all of a sudden and then comes the academic lingo that no one understands and the talk about privilege starts all over again until everyone has a psychosis and says how everyone should just die.
 
Never in my life would I think that talking about gender would be like being in a state of civil war and I hope the problems get fixed someday so people can finally shut up about it.

Sad but true. Walking around feeling like a creep if you should dare to ask someone out is not fun. Many women today are “broken” by unrealistic expectations that no poor man can ever hope to keep up with. It is a sad state of affairs really.
