right right i should know that i’ve played nearly all the good castlevania games…..
The weapon is called a morning star, and…yeah. Pun.
get instantly wrecked , like there’s no chance lol…..
The chain seems fairly short for a meteor hammer. Besides, the artist referred to it as a “sun flail thingy” so I think I’ll stick with that.
@The Hittite
Actually, in this case, this weapon would be, more specifically in the flail/morning star family, a meteor hammer.
And from there, it would be a “fire meteor” type, where they would fill the blunt end with a type of fuel and light it up so it would literally look like a meteor and would be used to burn the opponent.
It’s incredibly dangerous to use, but Celestia strikes me as being a proficient user of it.
So it is indeed, a flail.
@Background Pony Number 17
+1 for me being half-right
Well, she’s probably immortal.
A little bit of wikipedia searching tells me that morning stars can have either a solid shaft or a chain. The defining characteristic that makes it a morning star is the spikes on the head as opposed to flanges or knobs on a mace or flail. Sadly, scientists and historians have yet to invent a word for a bludgeoning weapon crafted from a captive stellar body, but I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that the proper term is “whatever she wants to call it.”
I’m pretty sure that:
mace = ball, no chain.
flail = chain, no ball.
morning star = chain + ball.
But who cares about semantics when you’re getting clobbered by the SUN?!?
I C wut u did there but it’s actually not a morning star but a flail. A morning star would have the ball attached to the rod directly.
in other words, “fuck humor I must correct everything”
Token Hottie armor style*
Wonder if derpibooru will ever have an edit comment feature.
I think the artist was trying to make her outfit like ivy’s from soul caliber. And while I’m not fond of the “token hottie” armor…. as mages in early cata proved; “you don’t need armor if you don’t get hit”.
