Donut Steel doesn’t mean it looks like you’re stealing something, it’s that the “ORIGINAL CHARACTER DO NOT STEAL” phrase came from somebody labeling their bad OC that way. Claiming that nobody had the right to use art of their OC that was just a recolor.

Donut Steel was actually a nickname for King Sombra before his actual name was annouced, since his design is thought to be silly by some people.
Indeed I am. I’m experimenting with different ways of promoting my writing, and uploading the cover to derpi seemed logical.

Donut Steel stands for “ORIGINAL CHARACTER DO NOT STEAL” which is basically a phrase making fun of OCs that are basically recolors of another, canon character, or occasionally, for distinctly uninspired OC designs(such as black and red alicorns).
Technically, there’s a good reason for Cheeralis being a recolor of Chrysalis, but she still looks like a shitty recolor OC.
