I guess that makes sense. I just figured in my head, that since this is Equestria the entire thing would be comically, Wonka-esque over-engineered.
A grist mill (which that more than likely is) dosen’t take up much space mechanical wise. It’s just a few reduction gears and the drive shaft down to the grinding stone.
Well a lot of times the point of fishing isn’t even to catch fish. When I was younger my grandfather and I would go fishing all the time just to sit on the bank, drink soda, and enjoy the peace. It’s a very zen experience.
I’m sure sooner or later one of the episodes will involve time/dimension-travel and he will end up in an almost identical reality with the only difference being that the pond now has fish in it.
Sweetie and Rarity’s mom is an awful cook.
On one level he’s cognizant of how pointless the action is and his subconscious is screaming to run, but he’s afraid of what happens next – what void lies beyond the point of breaking free.
So every day he goes back to the reservoir and fishes for nothing.
