I really do love this concept. She just looks so… so disappointed here. She’s reached her breaking point, and it started a change within her… leading to this.

haha, I actually think Applejack would make a great villain if she were so inclined, just as an earth pony. No-nonsense, practical, driven, not given to self-aggrandizement, heavy on common sense. Very good leader (the de-facto leader when Twilight’s not around, and almost always does a better job) and surprisingly good at planning large events (Winter Wrap Up, Apple Family Reunion). At least as combat-capable as Rainbow Dash, and more skilled all-around. Plus lots of allies, since apples breed like rats. The only thing that would get in the way is her sense of honor, but there are plenty of successful villains with a sense of honor.
