Background Pony #5B3E
The joke is that with Mel Brooks directing the movie, there’s never a sequel.

actually, I think they might be going with the idea that the Mirror is a stargate like object with an near infinite number of different universes keyed to it.

Specifically, look at the upcoming “secret of starswirl the bearded” comic book plot, which shows celestia with a frazzled look and the Mirror covered in tons of sticky notes (implying they’re trying to figure out exactly how it keys to different universes like in stargate)

this show is about 6 ponies not one: Making an entire movie revolve around one pony and her character with literally zero chance to develop the others IS a bad thing in my book.

Since the other 5 dissapeared about 10 minutes in and were replaced by clones, that kind of nixed any possible growth for the others, and I think that is very, very bad design.

“(the human five basically being there solely for the ability to twilight to reflect on her importance in leading others and acting as a princess)”

And… that’s bad?

the annoying thing is, I LOVE Pony humanization. Its one of my favorite things to see.

The problem is, hasbro took the concept and decided to do it as cheaply as they possibly could, leading to cookier cutter human forms for the mane six.
On top of this, i was NOT a fan of McCarthy shoving the other 5 aside and making it a twilight adventure, with there being zero possibility for growth or focus on the other 5 (the human five basically being there solely for the ability to twilight to reflect on her importance in leading others and acting as a princess)
