Spike is a little too young here, but I’m glad the artist didn’t make him look like a freak like others would and instead actually made him a real boy.

When humanizing MLP characters, artists often give Spike pointed ears (like an elf’s) to reflect how he’s not quite the same species as them, yet can still look “humanized”.

Reminds me of a book I read once, Las Batallas en el Desierto (The battles in the desert) by Jose Emilio Pacheco. This is almost the perfect representation of the main characters.
