Nothing in her appearance really required lines, though; her appearance in the hospital was a Doorway Gag, her shrug was a Sight Gag, and everywhere else she was in the background.

Maybe so but the thing is, her big role in TLR required lines. Up until TLR she was always seen in the background or in very short and brief scenes that didn’t call for voiced speech. If this was the case with this ep that would be fine, but once again they gave her a bigger role with substantial screen time, and that’s why she should have had spoken just like she had in TLR. Thunderlane and his companion pony played much smaller parts and they still had lines.
 
What I’m saying is, if they can’t let her speak they shouldn’t put her in the center of attention like this. It made her appearance awkward as it’s clear that she’s being muted on purpose in a small but very focused role where any other pony would have had at least a couple words.

But they weren’t planning on letting her talk anymore ever, even before Derpygate broke; her speaking role in “The Last Roundup” was always planned to be a one-shot thing.

Someone suggested they made her not a have a speaking role so she wouldn’t be listed in the credits and as such would be kept a secret till her Glorious reveal.

I don’t want to get excited for Derpy, only for it to be some cruel joke on the fandom. But…what else could muffins mean, right?

Weird al goes by Bluebry muffin online not a derpy reference.

Honestly, I’m just as curious as to whether or not the actual muffins are still gonna be good tomorrow as I am about if she’s teasing or not.

Alright, it’s time to get slightly optimistics! Let’s see how long it takes before a new wave of complains about her begin offensive reaches Hasbro. Someone is probably already making a “Down with Derpy” homepage.

Looks like APM’s shutdown is overwhelming this little tease. Which means there’s a chance for more people to be surprised tomorrow, if Derpy really does make a significant appearance.
