Like I said, I don’t think that really makes sense, but perhaps that is because I allow for certain things. For example, Equestria Girls showed us that rather than ponies being different from humans, they are humans in that world. Ponies and people are total equals at the very least, and if a human ever went to Equestria, they would first of all not retain their human form, and second, they would be aliens, foreigners who have no idea how that world works, not instant masters of it. It works rather tidily for me, whereas “Martians” would be so random and out of place that I would have difficulty enjoying such an idea at all.

Humans in Equestria are the death of G4. Once there are humans, that’s it, they’re the Audience Stand-In, and Equestrians are reduced at a stroke to nothing more than pets and clever animals; they won’t be people any more, they’ll just be candy-colored talking horses, there for the humans’ amusement.
 
Everyone I know who’s seen Equestria Girls– whose opinion I respect– says it was a fun movie with a lot of great scenes and laugh out loud moments, but I ain’t ever gonna watch it because I couldn’t enjoy it no matter how good it was; it’s full of humans, and that just kills it for me.
