Fluttershy: “I’m not sure, he just showed up and said he was the best flyer in town. I’m sure he’ll be very interesting and contribute a lot to the team!”
@TheAbridgenator
I disagree, not only because I like space fighter stuff but I also like giving attention to minor characters, especially in military. They even had episode about janitors after all, what was good ep.
@DeathCloud
Well, we didn’t even really NEED a pilot to start with. Granted, the times Sheridan and the others went into flight combat were silly, esp. since B5 avoided the whole Captain on an Away Mission cliche, but that was a rare thing and Starfury scenes were about as integral to the point of B5 as warp scenes were to TNG, so it was a pointless role.
@Background Pony #21C8
Well, he’ll still TECHNICALLY be there, you’ll just have more engagement watching the actual scenery around him so you won’t notice his presence. XD

Besides, you could easily have given the part to Zack Allen. Dude’s had experience with drag racing.
Yeah, we need ace pilot in space war story? Instead having designated space pilot better put captain, first officer and chief of security there :P
And Warren Keffer didn’t had annoying character arcs like Walkabout.
Yup. And JMS hated the character and used him as little as possible until he was able to kill him off.

He’ll disappear for a whole season and then be killed by a mysterious monster because the writer hated him.
