I thought Ocelot just stopped the machine and shot Snake for the kill.
Ocelot never turns off the machine and Snake gets electrocuted to death.

As far as I know it detects how fast you press buttons and triggers the safety if it goes above human capability. So if the auto-fire doesn’t press the button like 45 times a second I’ll guess you’re safe.
Auto-fire on a PS1 Mad Catz controller got away with it.
Auto-fire on a PS2 Logitech controller didn’t.

So is the timer at the end during the escape. If it reaches zero, nothing happens.
It depends on the controller. Some can get away with turbo, some can’t.
